Pregnancy is an exciting and tiring time for any woman. Keeping the body active before, during, and after pregnancy will not only maintain the health of both mother and baby, but relieve stress and decrease muscle tension. At Core Concepts of Colorado we recognize that each pregnancy, and each woman, is unique. Furthermore, we are sensitive to the fact that during each week of your pregnancy your strength, energy, and comfort level will probably change. But, with its focus on deep breathing, core strength, and identifying and activating the muscles of the pelvic floor, Pilates is an ideal means for any pre-natal woman to stay healthy and fit while her body is transforming.

Meanwhile, your post-natal recovery is also an important time. It’s when you will start realigning your spine and regaining muscle strength. It is also the time when you will begin carrying an ever growing baby, therefore asking new things of your body. And, perhaps most importantly, as you sleep less and tend to the needs of a newborn, Pilates will treat you to an hour of time devoted solely to keeping Mommy healthy and happy.
